As I do every year, I reached out to coaches from around Section 1 at the conclusion of this weekend’s sectional championships and asked for their opinions about who the top playoff performers were. These teams are based on votes that I compiled, sprinkled in with my own opinions of guys who stood out when it mattered most.
There are three All-Tournament teams—one for Class AA, one for Class A and a combined team for B and C. I went with a starting 11 for each and tried to stay true to each player’s natural position. Of course, there are plenty of other deserving candidates, but this list should represent the best of the best in terms of clutch performers in 2014. Our All-Star teams that take into consideration the entire season won’t come for another few weeks.
